In Character Government Posts

Central Texas wants to do in character posts for the regional government areas, an Idea I support. But instead of placing the government in the RP section I would just support a rule saying it has to be done that way. Now, that aside. I had an idea. To do this we need to define individual characters who represent our respective governments in the regional government. This forum has two modules I could activate that could help with that. One is a roleplay module where everyone would have a character sheet they could fill in, in the profile area I believe. The sheet has fields that contain whatever information we decide they need. For instance we can have a Name Field, Age Field, Sex field, and general personality field. Whatever information we decide is needed. Some of this info can be also shown on the little post profile. So that in the post area we could send through the name of your representative and it would show under the avatars. The downside is that you can only have one character sheet I believe, but I can make it so that you can edit it at any time if you want to switch out representatives. We could also do this with the blog module the forum has, but none of the info would show in the post area. You'd have to go to each person's blog to read anything about the character, but you could have more than one sheet if you want.

Oh. and yes I'm trying to do something about that damn "online" Icon that blocks the text sometimes!  

OK, I've activated the RP module for right now so you can what I'm talking about. Under my flag you will see General Assembly Representative. His name is John Danforth he is 55 years old and male. That shows here. If you click "General Assembly Representative" it will take you to his full character sheet.

Couldn't we just post our characters in our signatures?

Yes, you could. But you can't develop and define the character that way, it's just a name in a sig. For good quality roleplay just as you need to develop a factbook so that you know something about the nation you are rping you should also know something about a character you are rping. After all a factbook is nothing more than a character sheet for a nation.

I like it. Now you can more define your character and the type of person they are.

OOC: I plan on using different characters, Chairman Brander will not always be the representative for the AU, even at the NOTW hq.

When you wish to retire Chairman Brander you can always just refill the sheet.

It's just like anything in your profile, you can change the information you put in there. So say you start out with Chairman Brander. You can fill it all out for him and save it. Then say later you decide to send louis Armstrong, first name that popped into my head, you can just change all the information and save it again.

Then you're out of luck there, because it only allows you to have one character sheet, I think it's kind of stupid too but that's how it works. If this were a straight up RP forum people would probably have several characters at one time they'd be playing. I thought this would be real helpful for what CT was wanting to do which is have in character posts in the regional government.
